Test Your Own Workflow¶

Complete this test after the standard test. Choose one workflow you already understand so you can evaluate Lyreline rather than learn the work at the same time.
Possible examples include:
- a routine administrative task;
- a website workflow captured manually;
- instructions for a Mac application;
- onboarding or training instructions;
- a recurring office procedure;
- a quality, compliance, or software-support process.
Do not choose highly confidential material. Use fictional or sanitized inputs when the real workflow contains personal, financial, security, or customer data.
Your test¶
- Create a Capture Session with a title meaningful to you.
- Select the application or window you normally use.
- Capture the moments you believe a learner would need. Manual capture is the expected method for ordinary Mac applications and websites.
- Pause or leave the session at a natural stopping point.
- Return later, continue the Capture Session, and add or insert another moment.
- Organize the material and decide what belongs in the Procedure.
- Create or update the Procedure.
- Edit the instructions and expected results in your own words.
- Use presentation editing only where it improves clarity or privacy.
- Complete Publication Review and preview the document.
- Export a PDF you would be willing to share with a colleague.
Try to work naturally. Consult Help when you would normally look for help, but do not follow the standard guide step by step.
What to notice¶
- Did you need to return to the User Guide? Where?
- Did you understand Capture Session versus Procedure?
- Did pausing and continuing make sense?
- Did you capture too much or too little?
- Was reorganizing easy?
- Were the image-editing tools understandable?
- Was Publication Review helpful or confusing?
- Was the final document something you would actually send?
- What did Lyreline save you from doing manually?
- What took longer than expected?
Most importantly: did you ever know what you wanted Lyreline to do next but not know how to make it happen? Describe that moment in the feedback template.
